Let’s hang on the stoop

This unique coffee shop setup is one of my favorites. Designed by Nico and Lili Ramirez, owners of Foreigner Coffee in Chelsea. The bleacher/step design is simple and functional. Customers sit facing the sidewalk and the cafe, making it ideal for people watching, and the high side of the structure naturally shields them from dirt and noise from the street. Although it’s made of wood, it’s finished with a concrete-like texture, so it not only looks like a New York brownstone stoop, it feels like one too!
